The Environmental Challenges in Ivory Coast

On the west side of Africa lies a beautiful and naturally rich country - the Republic of Cote dfIvoire, or also known as Ivory Coast. The lands of the Republic of Cote dfIvoire is populated by 20.3 million people as of 2013. Just like the countries that surrounds Ivory Coast, the place is showered with a wealthy amount of natural resources such as metals and even natural gases and petroleum. But like any other countries in its neighboring area, it suffers greatly environmentally. Its forests used to hold the title of the largest in West Africa, but due to uncontrolled deforestation, it's almost meeting its demise. The waters, too, are polluted because of the people's indifference.
